Business Development Associate, MY

About Us

Levanta Renewables is a renewable energy developer and independent power producer in Southeast Asia selling renewable energy to corporate and utility customers. We develop, build and operate projects in support of the transition to renewable energy. With a shared goal towards helping Southeast Asia realize its energy transition and net zero targets, Levanta is backed by Actis, a leading sustainable infrastructure private equity firm. We are developing 1.5 GW of renewable energy projects in Southeast Asia through M&A and greenfield development of corporate and utility scale projects.

Due to business expansion, we are actively seeking a Business Development Associate to be based in Malaysia. This role reports to the Business Development Director in the Commercial & Industrial Business unit.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Identify potential clients based on Levanta Renewables criteria.
  • Generate new business leads through cold calling, e-mails, and other direct and indirect outreach methods.
  • Input and track prospects, leads, and sales data on CRM software (ex. Salesforce).
  • Prepare proposals, presentations, and other documentation for client meetings and internal reviews.
  • Provide administrative support to the Business Development team.
  • Travel to client sites, project locations, and industry events.
  • Attend client meetings and present company profile or service offering.
  • Collaborate with the Business Development team to develop strategies for reaching sales targets and expanding the company’s market presence.
  • Compile and analyse market data and renewable energy policies.

Ideal candidate should possess

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.

Experience

  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in B2B sales or sales support for industrial customers.
  • Knowledge of Solar PV industry is a plus.

Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent cold call and lead generation skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) and CRM tools (e.g. Salesforce).
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Fluency in Malay and English; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
