We are developing 1.5 GW of renewable energy projects in Southeast Asia through M&A and greenfield development of utility scale and C&I projects.

Due to business expansion, we are actively seeking an Investment Associate / Manager, Philippines to be based in Manila, Philippines. Reporting to the Head of Business Development (Philippines), this individual will be a key member of the team and will work closely with other departments to a) secure project finance for the greenfield / M&A opportunities, b) originate, evaluate and close development partnership / acquisition opportunities and c) contribute towards portfolio management in terms of day to day performance tracking and management.

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Project Finance

  • Support the Group CIO and Head of Business Development for securing project finance for across the entire financing cycle – due diligence process, documentation, execution etc.
  • Build a strong network with the banks, financial institutions, due diligence advisors, law firms etc
  • Should be able to build and review financial models and presentations (Information Memorandum etc.)

2. Investment Analysis

  • Support the Head of Business Development for evaluation of development partnership opportunities for Levanta end-to-end (origination – conducting due diligence – submitting offers – transaction documents negotiations – closing the transaction).
  • Lead the preparation of all key memos (board presentations, valuation note etc.) pertaining to development partnership/acquisition opportunities.
  • Build a strong network for originating deals and systematic approach to shortlist and process deals

3. Portfolio Management

  • Regular reporting of key developments for the portfolio (operating performance, financial covenants etc.)

Ideal candidate should possess

  • Strong networking skills: Be able to develop and maintain relationships with the banks, financing institutions and other key stakeholders (due diligence advisors, law firms etc.)
  • Prior experience in raising / arranging debt financing from local / international lenders for wind and / or solar generation projects in the Philippines. Experience in finalization of debt financing term sheets, lender due diligence management, financing documentation, security creation, debt drawdown and post-COD lender monitoring is highly preferable.
  • Strong analytical and project finance skills: Able to understand and assess value & value drivers for contemplated opportunities with strong fundamentals of financial valuation techniques such as Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) analysis, Comparable Company Analysis (Comps), Precedent Transactions, etc.
  • Strong negotiation and deal-making skills: Responsible for negotiating and structuring investment transactions, including structuring due diligence programs and coordinating the same.
  • Ability to work well under pressure: Need to be able to handle multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Attention to detail: The Investment Manager will be responsible for managing the end-to-end project finance and investment process and must pay close attention to detail and ensure that all aspects of the process are handled accurately and efficiently.
  • Education level: At least a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution. A Master’s degree in Finance or Business Administration or other relevant certifications such as CFA will be seen as an advantage.
  • Job experience: Candidates should have a minimum of four (4) years of experience in project finance, investment management or a related field, with a track record of successfully leading and closing project finance/M&A deals. Experience in the wind and solar energy industry and / closing deals within Philippines is required.
  • Languages: Fluency in English is required
