Project Development Manager – Land, Philippines

We are developing 1.5 GW of renewable energy projects in Southeast Asia through M&A and greenfield development of C&I and utilityscale projects.

Due to business expansion, we are actively seeking a Project Development Manager – Land to be based in Philippines to join our Utility-scale team. Reporting to the Country Head, Philippines, this individual will be a key member of the team and will work closely with other departments to identify, evaluate, and execute the land acquisition work for utility-scale opportunities that align with the company’s strategic goals and growth objectives.

Roles & Responsibilities

The Project Development Manager for Land will be responsible for supporting Levanta’s land activities in the region with a focus on the Philippines. In this role, the Project Development Manager for Land will be working in a startup-like environment within a lean team and will need to be able to work efficiently and effectively to identify and pursue potential opportunities.

  • Manage the land acquisition and all things related to land management of public and private lands for energy projects 
  • Evaluate the due diligence for the land status of potential energy projects 
  • Prepare key memos (board presentations, valuation note etc.) pertaining to these opportunities 
  • Liaise with key stakeholders for the land scope 
  • Prepare, lead, and execute the land framework for the projects 
  • Evaluate and analyze land activities to align with the overall project schedule 
  • Interface with the project team and other functional groups involved in the project and using soft skills to balance conflicting and competing goals of the project stakeholders 
  • Perform other duties as may be required by the Philippines Country Head 

Ideal candidate should possess

  • Relevant experience in land matters in the Philippines: Able to understand and assess the process flow and requirements for land acquisition and land framework of energy projects 
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills: Able to effectively present proposals to the leadership team and external stakeholders. Builds and maintains excellent relationships with external advisors. 
  • Excellent handle on project management: Responsible for and leading land matters for project development of energy projects. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills: Able to identify and evaluate complex opportunities and develop creative solutions to overcome challenges and barriers. 
  • Leadership experience: Able to work well within a team and motivate team members to achieve shared goals. 
  • Ability to work well under pressure: Need to be able to handle multiple tasks and deadlines effectively. 
  • Attention to detail: will be responsible for managing the end-to-end transaction closing process and must pay close attention to detail and ensure that all aspects of the process are handled accurately and efficiently. 
  • Education level: At least a bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution. A degree or other relevant certifications in forestry or environmental science or having a legal background will be seen as an advantage. 
  • Job experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the energy industry or a related field, with a track record of successfully securing public and private land for energy projects. Experience in the wind and solar energy industry within the Philippines will be an advantage. 
  • Languages: Fluency in both English & Filipino is required.
