Singapore, 16 JANUARY 2026 — Levanta Renewables (Levanta), Actis’ pan-Southeast Asia renewable energy platform, concluded 2025 by bringing light to an off-grid community in the Visayas region, Philippines—one of the platform’s key areas of operation.
Through the Levanta Cares programme, solar-powered streetlights were installed to enhance night-time safety and visibility within communities neighbouring Levanta’s project sites. This initiative benefits students, teachers, and residents in areas that previously lacked reliable lighting, fostering safer, more sustainable environments while supporting the region’s broader transition to clean energy.
The project was inaugurated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by representatives from Levanta, local government officials, school administrators, and community members. During the event, the Levanta team also distributed 148 reusable lunch boxes to students at Sto. Tomas Elementary School, including 45 children from the Indigenous Ati community. This initiative supports Levanta’s advocacy for reducing single-use plastics and fostering environmental awareness among the youth in its host communities.
