VIETNAM, 03 Dec 2024: Levanta Renewables (Levanta), a leading Southeast Asia-focused renewable energy platform backed by Actis, has partnered with the local authorities in Vietnam’s Phu Yen province on the construction of a canopy shelter for a school in Hoa Ngai Village, the first of Levanta’s Community investment projects to be completed.
Last month, we proudly celebrated the opening ceremony of our community project in the Son Dinh commune, with representatives from both the local village and Levanta. This project, fully funded by Levanta, was born from close engagement with the local community. It fulfils a crucial need by providing shelter from the elements for students at a local school, creating a safe, nurturing environment for learning. Beyond that, it helps raise awareness among the next generation about Levanta’s role as a renewable energy company committed to doing good in the community. We’re also excited to identify and nurture local talent as we continue to grow in the region.
This project marks Levanta’s first community investment, not just in Vietnam but across Southeast Asia, and we are honoured to be afforded the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the people in Phu Yen province. We hope that with this project, we are able to not only improve the lives of the people in Vietnam, but also generate interest among some of the people in the local communes, encouraging them to pursue a career in the burgeoning green energy sector, and perhaps even a career with Levanta itself. As a leading renewable energy platform in Southeast Asia, we have a responsibility and duty to give back to the communities in which we operate in, and I’m proud to say that this will be but the first of many projects that we will embark on in the coming years.
